This Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) is accredited by the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT). VIT recognition enables you to register as a teacher Australia wide.

Entry requirements

Non-Year 12 entry

  • Completed Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree within the last 7 years; OR
  • Significant and relevant work experience and appropriate English language skills; OR
  • A suitable Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) result; AND
  • Demonstrate suitable English language proficiency

Year 12 entry

  • Successful completion of the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or its equivalent; AND
  • Applicants must meet the associated minimum ATAR score; AND
  • Units 3 and 4 – a study score of at least 25 in English (other than EAL) or at least 30 in English as an Additional Language
  • Demonstrate suitable English language proficiency

In addition to the above, all applicants (both standard entry and non-year 12 entry) must successfully complete the CASPer assessment. CASPer is a non-academic suitability assessment tool designed to assess an applicant’s personal and professional attributes. It is an Australian Government accreditation requirement that all initial teacher education courses include non-academic selection criteria.

All enrolled students are also required to maintain a current Working with Children Check (from the appropriate State Authority).
